Another gaming night has been announced, almost straight after the recent Halo 3 event.
If you don’t already know, our friends over at MSXBOX-World host gaming nights every month to bring the community together for a few games. The game chosen varies each month and prizes are given to participants who do well!
It costs nothing to join in and is well worth while, they’re allot of fun and who knows, you might get some prizes out of it!

Date/Time: August 9th – from 7p.m.Hot off the heels of our recent Hao 3 Event, we are hosting another MSXBOX-WORLD Community Gaming Night, and for the second time we’ll be revisiting Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV. For those of you that are ready to tear it up online, post your interest below and we’ll see you in Liberty City come August 9th where prizes will once again be available.
For greater convenience you can simply click HERE to add MSXBOX WORLD to your Xbox LIVE Friends List (be signed into Xbox.com with your gamertag). Please note that you may receive a game invite from any of the staff here, and this may not be from the MSXBOX WORLD gamertag. The new gamertag’s purpose is for storing Gamer Night participants tags on their, so we can easily access the list and send a game invite when due. It was a shame that not all clan members could make it, only myself and LCDking were able to play. The night was a good laugh.
Only 3 prizes were on offer for the event, and because great talents such as Lithane and Vicktacular made an appearance the competition was extremely tough!
There was no suprise when the final results were announced
1st place: Lithane
2nd place: Vicktacular
3rd place: Rikoshay
Congratulations to Lithane and Vicktacular, they really did show outstanding skill and performed to a very high standard. We all have the up-most respect for you guys!

Now we were going to hold a gaming night to celebrate, but being as we’re going to be playing in the tournament over at MSXBW this saturday, this is no longer happening.
This last year has been slow and we haven’t achieved as much as we have in previous years, but this is all going to change in the coming months. We have something very special going on in our team, we have fantastic members with skill, but most importantly we’re all dedicated people, we put our best into everything we attempt. We’re loyal to the people around us and have built up a strong friendship in the past 4 years, and for this we should be proud.
We’re the greatest team in existence, not because of our skill, but because of our friendship!
I’m honoured to have you all in our team, and priviledged to have your friendship.

July 19th – from 7p.m.What’s this? A gaming night? Yes, get a post in!! We’re getting back into the Halo mood here at msxbox-world thanks to the recent Bungie Day and them giving all of us another reason to jump online and shoot at each other by them releasing the new free map, Cold Storage. What more could you want than to tea-bag the msxbox staff? Well, we just so happen to have some Xbox 360 games to giveaway too, we’ve not worked out yet how we’re going to be giving these away. As always we’ll come up with something to make sure that everyone taking part has a good time and stands a chance at bagging a prize.
We’ll be using our MSXBOX WORLD gamertag yet again, so make sure that you add this to your friend’s list as well as posting here. The purpose for the gamertag is so none of us have to sort through a load of friends (potentially removing people) to invite participants, so it makes it much easier just to have everyone taking part to be a friend on the MSXBOX WORLD gamertag.

A buddy of mine is running an event to raise money for the charity UNICEF. The event will take place online in Myle Dyer’s Stickam chat room on July 19th 2008, He will hold the chat room open for 24 hours!

Bungie have just released a new ViDoc contatining information about what’s in store for us this coming Bungie day:

“7/7” has long been heralded as “Bungie Day” by the Bungie fan community. This tradition was born in part due to the significance the number 7 has played in all of Bungie’s games over the years (including the Halo series – which happened to involve 7 Halo rings, “343” Guilty Spark, Master Chief is Spartan 117, etc..). For more information, check out the Halo wiki on the web, the number of references to seven in the Halo Universe is quite staggering. (http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/seven) In many ways, seven is the ‘official’ number of Bungie, if such a thing existed.
This year, 7/7 will bring a few special treats to fans of Bungie and Halo but some are only available for a limited time so you’ll need to act quickly…
Commemorative Gamer Pics – on 7/7, fans can download 7 exclusive gamerpics, for free, from Xbox LIVE Marketplace. These are only available for one day and then they’re gone forever.
In addition to the pics, you can also obtain a special Bungie Day dashboard theme to adorn your Xbox 360. This too is only going to be available for download on 7/7.
Cold Storage, an update of Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer classic, Chill Out, will be available to download for free. The emptied Forerunner research facility serves as a grim reminder of how even the best laid plans can fail. Warmly crafted, dutifully beautified update of Halo: CE classic multiplayer map, Chill Out. Love, Bungie”.
Once, the Cold Storage facility was a vibrant, active research center on Installation 05. An accidental contamination resulted in an unforeseen outbreak, which compromised the Forerunner center. Now, emptied and silent, watched only by a local caretaker, the abandoned structure serves as a reminder of how something as powerful as science is ultimately beholden to nature.
Starting on 7/7, the Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack will be available to purchase a new low price of 600 points. If you’ve yet to experience this epic collection of multiplayer battlegrounds, the time has never been better.
4th of July Weekend kicks off a special “Fourth of July” playlist where players can earn double-XP competing in a variety of Halo 3 gametypes (7/3 – 7/7).
On 7/7, the “Icy Treats” playlist is released which consists of all Cold Storage games (the new Halo 3 map) and offers double-XP. (7/7 – 7/9) Members of the Bungie team will be playing throughout the weekend so you may encounter one of the Halo 3 developers on the battlefield.
On 7/10, a special “Fiesta Double-XP” weekend kicks off, with Fiesta gametypes (random weapons) offering some unpredictable antics. (7/10 – 7/14).
There’s plenty there to get us all excited but what i’m interested in is what was said at the begining of the ViDoc. At the part where they got into the Warthog one guy (Luke) begins to say
“Our independence has us striving to be a multigame studio and the first thing we are going to announce is..”
He’s then cut out by Shishka who then interupts with
“Whoah Whoah Whoah we’re not announcing anything yet“

There are alot of rumours flying around about Microsoft going to steal the show at E3, and even more rumours about Halo 4 already being in development, either way it looks like we will be getting some sort of announcement about a new game from Bungie on either Bungie Day or at E3 the following week!
I’ll keep everyone informed but in the meantime you can discuss this story in the forums over at MSXBOX-WORLD:
